Twist and Shout Bracelet The Twist and Shout Bracelet is an intermediary project using Tila Beads. The name of the bracelet came from the song "Twist and Shout" because of the beads twisting in the middle as you are weaving it. This bracelet is a very pretty bracelet that will only take a couple of hours to make for someone who is an experienced beader. If you get the urge do some twisting and shouting as you weave! . . . Soutache Pendant
Meghan McBrearty
Soutache Pendant The Soutache necklace is an advanced bead embroidery project. It is a very interesting technique. Soutache (pronounced SOO-tash), which is also referred to as "Russia Braid", is a common element in the French art of Passementerie. It was developed in the 16th century. Passementerie incorporates a wide range of trims, braids, and tassels used as decoration on haute couture, draperies, and furnishings. In Soutache and bead embroidery, however, lengths of Soutache are stacked together to create a more visual element and a stable base for the addition of beads. Soutache can be curved and shaped into many patterns. And because Soutache is generally a textile, Soutache jewelry has two wonderful properties. They are that it is light weight and like a well-made piece of clothing, it will conform to the wearer's body. So, don't be afraid to try something new. Jump in and reap the plentiful Soutache rewards. . . . Click to View
