Bead Jewelry Making Video: Framed Pendant
Posted by Eri
This week’s featured video class shows how to make a necklace piece that I call a Framed Pendant.
When making this piece we weave a “frame” of beads around a large centerpiece bead. In the video I use a Swarovski 1122 Rivoli gemstone in 16mm size.
I love the way a large rivoli gemstone like that sparkles in the light.
It really draws attention!
The remainder of the materials consist of 5301 bicone beads in 3mm size, a lot of size 11 seed beads, monofilament string, jump ring, extender, silver chain, flush cutter, chain nose pliers, and bent nose pliers.
Here’s a closeup picture of the ring: Framed Pendant Picture

At the Bead Fest at the Valley Forge convention center on Sunday i purchased a DVD called Framed Pendant from a very nice helpful gentleman. However, the video calls for a 16 mm rivoli and i cant find any in that size. i’ve seen 12’s 14’s and 18 mms but not in the 16 mm size. Can you advise please?
thank you

Hi Jeanette.
Sorry for my very late reply, and it was nice to meet you at Bead Fest.
You can find 16mm Rivoli at Fusionbeads (http://www.fustionbeads.com) or Artbeads.com (http://www.artbeads.com)
If you want to get any unique colors you can find them by searching on eBay.
Many of my customers have asked me how to adjust this design with 14mm and 18mm rivoli so I am going to experiment a little to find out and then I will make a separate post on that.
Thanks!
Eri
