Eri,
I have tried all the different jewelry learning techniques from attending classes, reading books, and watching online videos.
By far my favorite method has to be online videos. I am able to take the class when it is convenient for me, at a pace that I am comfortable with, and if I need to take a break I can always come back anytime and pick up where I left off.
Too often when I take a class in person I forget the techniques when I try to do them later at home. The instructions the teacher provided if any are often minimal and useless without the instructor.
When I try learning from books, the pictures are not always clear and the instructions can be confusing.
I have tried all different types of jewelry making from basic stringing to advanced wire wrapping and metal work but I had never tried working with crystal weaving; mostly because I could not find classes that fit my schedule or my budget.
But thanks to the Jewelry Making Professor videos and website I have been able to learn a new skill which by the way is very addicting and I have been able to do this for a fraction of the cost I would pay to attend traditional classes.
The video quality is excellent and exceeded my expectations, the angle of the shots allowed me to follow all the steps with ease because it looks just like the project in front of me, there are multiple projects for all skill levels, and the enrollment options are great (I went with the monthly plan and can take as many or as few classes as I have time for at a shockingly affordable price).
This program is excellent for any experience level, the pieces you can create are stunning, and well its just plain fun! I hope more people learn about and try the Jewelry Making Professor Videos they are worth the money and then some!

What's so special about Jewelry Making Videos?

With thousands of customers around the world I receive a lot of feedback about our jewelry making videos.

Here are the most common reasons why my students prefer learning how to make jewelry by watching videos:

You can access the video course over and over again.
You get to take a face-to-face beading class once, but with videos you get to access a class as many times as you like. You can replay it, stop it, rewind it, and fast forward it.
You can learn patterns much quicker using videos than you can using patterns written on paper.

Many people, myself included, have a lot of trouble understanding beaded jewelry making patterns on paper.

Patterns require your brain to translate 2 dimensions into our real 3-dimensional world. Some people can do that, but many can't, and they become frustrated and give up.

With video, its just like you are there with the instructor so you can see exactly how the jewelry piece is made.
You can learn at your own pace.
In a face-to-face class the pace of instruction will sometimes seem too slow for you, and sometimes too fast. With a video course you can learn at the pace that best suits you.
You can access the videos anytime, anywhere.
With a video course you can watch anytime anywhere as long as you have internet access. If you havent made a piece in a while and forget how to do it, you just go back to your video to re-learn the parts you forgot.
You can save A LOT of money versus taking face-to-face classes.

One of the major negatives of taking a face-to-face class is that you have to pay quite a bit of money since you are paying for the instructor's time and rental cost of the class room EACH time you take a class.

When you invest in video courses you get to watch them over and over again so they are much more cost effective than face-to-face classes.
You can learn how to make complex jewelry patterns that beading stores won't offer.

Many stores won't offer classes that offer complex jewelry pieces because the classes take too long and there aren't enough advanced students to take the classes.

We have a number of more complex beading patterns in our library and we are adding more all the time.
You can learn jewelry making even if there are no beading stores near where you live.
Although making handmade jewelry has become very popular and many stores offer face-to-face classes, there are still millions of people who do not live close to such a store. Video courses are perfect for these folks.
My infatuation with the Jewelry Making Professors Video Library began as puppy love. I had recently purchased a Swarovski crystal ring that looked like a puppy. The ring was so cute I just had to find the pattern. A visit with my good friend Google brought me to the Jewelry Making Professor, and there it was; that cute, adorable, puppy I love, made of Swarovski crystals! I could buy a CD of the pattern and use it any time I wanted. As I looked around the site I found a Puffy Heart necklace. The same puffy heart I had just taken a class for but couldnt remember how, and couldnt understand the written instructions that came with the class. So I thought I would buy that CD too. But it didnt stop there. The more I looked I found more wonderful patterns. I was bitten (get it?...bitten.)
My "want" list of CDs began to grow significantly. Continuing to read the website something great happened; I found the Jewelry Making Professors Video Library membership. For only $8.95 a month I can watch ALL the videos I want, ANYTIME I want, AS OFTEN as I want!
Personally, I am a visual person and need to see the steps. Eri gives detailed, step-by-step instructions and a material list at the beginning of each video. Watching the videos is like having your own teacher. The overall quality of the videos is superb. To get so much for such a small fee I can enjoy my hobby without feeling guilty about spending. I will give up everything else but not my Video Library membership.
And when I see an e-mail from Eri I get so excited knowing it will likely be a new pattern being added to the library! Its like Christmas, getting a present and eager to see whats inside. Now, if only watching the videos and making the jewelry would be considered exercise. Hey, maybe Eri could develop a jewelry making exercise video!

How does the Jewelry Making Video on Demand Service Work?

To take advantage of this service all you need is a computer with a broadband (cable, DSL, fibre) internet connection. (By the way, if you dont have a high speed internet connection, all of our jewelry making courses are available on DVD as well.)

The technology underlying the video on demand service is an interactive video learning platform that uses an online video player and streaming digital technology.

This allows you to watch videos right on the internet!

That means you can enjoy my jewelry making video courses INSTANTLY, and at a significantly lower cost than buying the video courses on DVD.

This video on demand service has some nice advantages over DVDs.

Better Value
Delivery of the videos is completely digital over the internet so it costs less than DVDs. That means I can offer these beading courses to you at a lower price.
No limit on access
With my video courses you get to access the videos as many times as you like. There's no limit.
Instant Gratification
You can access any video immediately after you sign up. No waiting for a DVD in the mail. No signing up for a class and waiting to take it.
Different levels to challenge beginning to advanced jewelry makers
I offer a variety of video courses with varying levels of difficulty for you to challenge yourself.
Large variety of different types of jewelry

My video courses consist of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants, animal shapes, and holiday themes.

Heres a quick video clip showing the variety of patterns in the library:

I was surfing the web, looking for beading patterns, and I happened upon Jewelry Making Professor. I clicked on the Puffy Heart demo, and thought "this is something I think I could do." I immediately joined and am so grateful!
I have been paying a lady $25 for each project I chose to learn to make. The problem is I can't just go home and get right to making another one, because I take care of my 81 year old mother, which takes priority over everything. And, so as the saying goes, "if you don't use it, you lose it." Even though she gives me a copy of the instructions, a lot of times I can't follow them. She is 25 miles away, so I can't just go there and have her show me, again.
Eri, I just love the way you teach. You repeat the function or "action", as you say, over and over. I started off with the 4mm Swarovski Crystals, and on the second try, I got it down. I have made 4 puffy hearts and have made two of them into necklaces, so far. I used dainty gold chain and linked a 4mm bicone (same color) 6mm round clear, then 4mm bicone(same color) at 21/2" intervals up from puffy heart. They look so expensive and professional. I can't wait to try more projects!
This is just perfect for me because I don't have to spend money on gas, and don't have to leave my mother alone at home while I am away. Oh, yeah, and I'm not paying for lessons I may not be able to even do again.
I am going to recommend this to all my beading friends. It's like having my own personal instructor at my finger tips whenever I need her. Thank you, Eri. My confidence level has greatly risen since I have joined Jewelry Making Professor. I AM a beader, and a darned good one!

How Good Is the Quality of the Videos?

There are two parts to that question: the quality of instruction, and the quality of the video production. First, let me answer the quality of instruction question.

If you google my name you will discover that I am referenced on hundreds of jewelry making websites and have written numerous articles on jewelry making.

My Beginner Jewelry Making courses have received rave reviews and were accepted for listing on Amazon.com

I am not saying this to impress you. I just want you to feel comfortable that you are dealing with a very high quality product.

Which brings me to the second question, the quality of the video production.

I only create top-notch videos that will truly help you learn to quickly make beautiful jewelry pieces.

You can take a look at Part 1 of a sample video lesson here:

Now that you have seen a sample video class, I want you to notice three things that I am obsessive about:
1) Digitally mastered professional quality video

I don't use my home camcorder to make these videos. I use the same type of professional video camera that is used to make motion pictures; I use professional audio equipment; I use a professional lighting setup; and I use professional editing software.

2) Film taken over my shoulder

The cameraman is behind me filming over my shoulder as I show how to make the jewelry piece. This method is much more effective than some home-study video courses that show the instructor making the jewelry with the camera facing the instructor head on.

The head on technique is confusing because the instructor's left hand will be your right and vice-versa.

With the over the shoulder technique learning is much easier because your hands will be in the exact same position as my hands. You can follow exactly what I do.

3) Attention to Detail

The level of do-this-then-do-that detail in my video classes is unlike anything you've ever seen.

I go very slowly and often use very close-up angles to make sure you can see exactly what I am doing.

Because of this my students report that they experience faster and better results than they have with any other training methods, including taking live classes.

And in just a very short time offering my videos on the internet I have already helped thousands of jewelry makers learn to make beautiful jewelry, even some very complex patterns like the crystal puffy heart pattern.

I have been making jewelry for a few years. Like everyone else, I take classes whenever my local bead store makes them available. These can be very expensive and often do not offer the class I am looking for. Recently, I wanted to learn how to make the crystal puffy heart. I looked all over the internet for a pattern I could follow on my own without the help of a teacher at my side. I dowloaded patterns that cost a considerable amount of money; with little results. Through my search I found jewelrymakingprofessor.com. It sounded too good to be true and I was somewhat hesitant to sign up. After thinking about it for awhile I decided to become a member. I figured what do I have to lose since I could cancel at anytime. Now, I couldn't even conceive of cancelling. Eri's step- by- step videos of her projects are fantastic. They are easy to follow and you can go back over the material anytime you want. Not only am I making puffy hearts, I have tried a number of Eri's patterns. They are all great! From beaded balls to crystal crosses and rings, Eri's directions are easy to follow with super results. I can't believe that I hesitated to join. jewelrymakingprofessor.com makes following patterns and creating beautful jewelry a snap. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate beader there is something for you at jewelrymaking professor. com. Thank you jewelrymakingprofessor.com, you really are too good to be true!

The video tutorials are amazing. I've watched all of them at least once. They are very easy to follow, the beads are counted out which is a huge help in figuring out if you are doing right. Once I started making some of the items and wearing them, I had orders pouring in from people to have me make them one. I have had numerous design ideas that have been inspired by the videos and techniques that I learned from these videos. I would highly recommend the membership plan to any beader (whether you bead for a hobby or professional beader).

So How do I Join the Premium Club?

Here's how the Platinum Club membership works.

There are 100 individual home-study videos in the video library at this point in time. At $25 per class, 100 classes in a group class setting would cost you $2,500. For private classes at $40 per class it would cost you $4,000.

That's a lot of money.

What I decided to do is offer access to the entire library of Jewelry Making Professor home-study video classes for only $8.95 per month.

Yes, you read that right, $8.95 per month gives you access to thousands of dollars of jewelry making classes.

That's about the price of two to three trips to the coffee shop per month and saves you well over $2,000 versus group lessons, and almost $4,000 versus private lessons.

And remember that the savings are actually more than that because unlike taking a class at a store where if you forget what you learned you have to pay for the class again, you can watch your video class at anytime, over and over.

A few other very valuable features of the Platinum Club:

1) Your $8.95 per month gives you access to all additions to the video library for as long as you remain a paying member.*

2) You can cancel at anytime.

3) When I raise the monthly price in the future, your price will be grandfathered at $8.95 per month for as long as you remain an active paying member of the Platinum Club.*(*This applies to Jewelry Making Professor jewelry making videos that I produce. In the future, I may offer video classes created by other instructors, but they may or may not be included in the video library.)

Hello Eri,
I am a new subscriber, and I have been very pleased with your designs, and with the very good video directions. You provide a clear listing of the components, and in some cases, advanced design information on why you chose one size of bead over another for the piece. The design directions have been easy to follow, and with the video, if there is part that isn't easily understood, I can move back in the video to follow that step again. Seeing the hand motion as you construct the piece, helps me to understand how to accomplish the design.
Your designs are quite elegant, and have great appeal. The video direction makes executing the design easy. I have completed several projects and have been very happy with the finished pieces. I have beads on order to work on several more!
